Description
Golden Lion Tamarin is mostly seen in the rainforests of the Atlantic coast of Brazil. Currently, there are only 1500 golden lion tamarins left in the wild because of the high rate of deforestation and increased agriculture. The small monkey can reach upto 6 to 10 inches in length and weighs approximately 17 and 24 pounds in weight. Talking about the appearance, the small monkey is covered with orange or golden fur with tail and forepaws are brown in colour. The average lifespan of the species is 20 years in captivity and up to 8 years in the wild.
