Description
"The Kirchenfeldbruecke (Kirchenfeld bridge) connects Casino Platz in the Old town of Bern to the Helvetiaplatz in the Kirchenfeld quartier across the Aar river.
This finely chiseled elegant iron structure was developed by the British construction firm Berne Land Company with the plans of the Gottlieb Ott & Co. company and was built in 21 months. It was inaugurated in September 1883.
It is 229 m long and has two arches that measure each 87 m and 37 m high."
There are six bridges across the Aar, the Kirchenfeldbruecke (Kirchenfeld bridge) is one of the most important.
